I saw this album design on The Pampered Stamper’s Facebook page (search for smashbook and her video post about this album will come up) and thought it was the perfect little album to give to my friend Katie. Katie came out to Brisbane from England last November for OnStage Live and now we get to hang out again in Amsterdam for the latest OnStage Live!
I chose some photos of her trip to Brisbane and some of the things we got up to hanging out together. I left the journalling pages blank so Katie can fill them with her memories of her trip. The papers I’ve used aren’t Stampin’ Up! but I loved the little koalas and kangeroos and the Aussie flag hot air balloon and I thought they summed up the trip perfectly as we did venture out to see these creatures… ok we didn’t see penguins but I thought they were too cute to leave out!
The sentiment on the front cover of the album is from the Bookcase Builder stamp set in the Occasions Catalogue. It perfectly summed up what I was thinking when I created the album: Today’s little moments become tomorrow’s precious memories.”
I demonstrated how to make this mini album at our recent Crafty Paper Bees Charity Day Workshop in March. The demonstration was recorded so you can watch it below. It’s my first video! The autofocus goes a little bonkers at times but hopefully the process is clear. The camera was angled to enlarge what I was doing for the ladies watching so please excuse the headless me :-p
This is such a fun little mini album to make. The hardest part is choosing photos to put in the diagonally cut panels. It also definitely helps to have a little scale model (for me anyway, I’m a visual person). It’s almost like a practice session at putting one together and with the scrap paper it doesn’t matter if you make a mistake.
It’s the last day of OnStage Live Amsterdam today. It’s been such an amazing time – catching up with old friends and meeting new ones.
I am an Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator from Brisbane, Australia. I’ve always loved all things craft and finally taken the leap into demonstrating the wonderful products Stampin’ Up! sell, which I’ve been using since 2010.
I will be posting my Stampin’ Up! projects here to inspire you. I also hold monthly card and paper craft workshops from my home in Eight Mile Plains, and sell product Australia wide.
