Lift Me Up

The Lift Me Up bundle (Lift Me Up stamp set and Up & Away Thinlits Dies) from the Occasions Catalogue is tied at the top of my favourites list from this catalogue (along with the Carousel Birthday suite). It is so, so, so versatile! I love all the different verses and phrases in the stamp set – you could use this set for birthdays, love notes, just because notes, thank-you cards, congratulations and so much more! These cards use the gorgeous Carried Away DSP which was a Sale-a-Bration freebie which is sadly no longer available.

This bundle has also been a big hit with my team as we’ve all used it to make our swaps! Below are three of the swaps I received at the Crafty Paper Bees team meetings from Ann Lewis, Pammy Woolnough and Wanda Suess.

My favorite project using the Up & Away Thinlits is this mobile I made for my daughter’s room. I got the idea from the display boards when I attended OnStage Live in Brisbane last November. My lovely husband, Crafty Pete even helped me cut out all the balloons using the Big Shot. The mobile hangs off from some driftwood which was something we had collected once from a beach somewhere. I used our Shimmery White cardstock for the clouds and some Crushed Curry buttons at the end of each string to give it some weight. My favourite colours are purple and teal so I chose Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay, Marina Mist and Wisteria Wonder for the balloons. I cut three balloons of each colour and glued them together to make them 3D. If you wanted to make the mobile able to be stored flat, you could use four balloons to make each balloon 3D as then you can easily flatten them again.

Below is a video of the swap card I received from Wanda Suess which uses the Lift Me Up bundle. She makes amazing pop-up cards (this one, according to her, was one of her more “simple” cards). I love the diagonal cut on the front of the card which gives a contrast with the two colours of cardstock and you can also see the sentiment whether the card is open or closed.

I hope you find this set as versatile to use as I do, I can’t wait to keep creating more!
